UPDATED [QLD] GC Meet/BBQ/Cruise - Sunday 14 September

OK, so the plan is for Sunday the 14th at Midday. We will meet at ChipTorque (http://maps.google.com.au/maps?f=q&hl=en&geocode=&q=chip+torque+nerang+qld&ie=UTF8&cd=1&ll=-27.993265,153.345108&spn=0.034181,0.067463&t=h&z=14&iwloc=A) carpark for photos, sussing out each others cars and the like.

At about 1PM we will then head out to Nerang, then to Pindari Hills, to Gold Coast - Springbrook Rd then up to The Woodchoppers Inn, Mudgeeraba where we can go for an "After cruise beer" at the end of the day.

My thoughts are to stop at Pindari Hills (http://maps.google.com.au/?ie=UTF8&ll=-28.108118,153.251907&spn=0.004448,0.006866&t=h&z=17) as there looks to be an open area here and its about halfway round the circuit. If we feel like pushing on a bit further it may be nicer to stop at Little Nerang Dam (http://maps.google.com.au/?ie=UTF8&ll=-28.141708,153.285327&spn=0.017786,0.027466&t=h&z=15) but that'll be a decision we make on the day! :D

Things to bring -

Chairs
50 cents for a 30 cent cone from Maccas
A VR-4 of some description
Perhaps a camera
And a good sense of humour, otherwise you shall be banished from the trip

I'm coming to visit the Gold Coast area in September, and this time i'll even bring my car! (Last time i met the boys i was in the other halfs Mazda :rolleyes:)

I'll get up there on the 11th of September and leave on Monday the 15th.

I'll be staying near Tweed but my relies will be in Surfers so i'll be floating that distict.

SOOOOOOOO......... Wanna organise a meet in celebration of my presence? ;)

My thoughts were a BBQ and a cruise somewhere in the GC area on most likely either the Saturday or the Sunday. I'll put up a poll to see whos interested!

Brissie peoples could even come down..... If you have nothing better to do and all!

Also, i'm relying on suggestions from the GC crew as to what to do, where to meet etc because i don't know the place terribly well!

After some map reading, i was thinking maybe for the cruise we could go to -

Out to Nerang then to Pindari Hills, to Springbrook then up to Mudgeeraba where we can go for an "After cruise beer" :D - from there everyone can then jump on the Pacifiac Motorway to go home!

Does this sound alright? Roads look fun, and it appears to be nice and scenic?

We then need to decide on a meeting point and where to stop for a BBQ?

I'm open to suggestions from the locals too haha

Nerang might not be the best spot to meet maybe, i don't know my way around there at all........
