[NSW] AWD Dyno Day 18th July 2009

Aza from Mitsubishi Club Australia has kindly organised another Dyno Day at Pulse Racing, Menai.
Like last time, dyno Day invites will only be open to OZVR4 (http://www.ozvr4.com/), Magna Club (http://www.magnaclub.net/), Mitsubishi Club Australia (http://www.mitsubishiclubaustralia.com/) and FTO Australia (http://www.ftoaustralia.com/).

We need a minimum total of twenty cars from the four clubs put together, so I'm hoping we can get at least 7 from OZVR4.

NSW members:
How much: $50 for two to three runs and a dyno print out.

Paul is easy to spot. He's the one who'll lunge at you with a 6000rpm launch, then you'll hear a big BANG & his car slowly pull over after he's broken yet ANOTHER thing in his VR4 !! hehe :laughing: j/j Paul ;)

Aza will be heading down there tomorrow to check out what's going on and if the 18th of July is a definite or what.

I'll keep you all posted.
If there's one more uncalled for date change by Pulse Racing, i might have to look into finding a different place to do a Dyno Day.

This is not your fault Aza. Unfortunately, these recent stuff arounds bring back memories of my bad experiences with Pulse Racing in 2007 during my GTO engine conversion on my old car.

But anyway, that's another story.

Is that what they told you? Well that's incorrect. Paul personally told me over the phone that it's because my car was an automatic. Paul said "we can't do the conversion because the new 6G72 engine will not work with the automatic transmission you currently have in your car". He said "the only way we could do this transplant is by doing a manual conversion first".
I explained that the 6G72 GTO engine conversion was done on an automatic already and Paul said there's no way it could have been done.
Knowing that this was a lie and listening to Paul's lame excuses for not wanting to work on the car made me decided not to waste any more time with Pulse Racing, so I ordered the tow truck to retrieve the car and take it to Sideshow's Performance Wiring (http://www.sideshowsperformancewiring.com.au/). The car was worked on for two weeks without problems and was up and running just before the new year.

A great day today and a big thanks to every one that came.
We ended up with 26 cars running the dyno.
To see all the high power coming out of the cars was great, it was also great to meet and talk to alot of the members :-)

Well with my last one of 167.7kw with the boost turned right up well when I tried driving it on the road it just hits boost cut way too easy like went to 17psi for a sec then hits boost cut or release accalerator right before to stop the boost cut so had to turn the boost down again so I did beat you Daniel on the dyno but can't drive like that on the street!
So who is the winner hey

With a manual boost controller or no manual boost controller it always goes back down to 9/10psi even when it maxed out at 15psi goes back down to 10-12psi pritty quickly dam thing even with a new BOV.

1st run (red) - NO Boost controler just stock with the solenoid restricter removed. 11psi to 8psi

2nd Run (blue) - Manual Boost controller installed lower boost setting . 13psi to 8.5psi

3rd run (Green) - Manual Boost controller cranked up to max boost for the car. 16psi to 10/11psi

In regards to boost level no matter what setting its on the boost increases nice and steady but then every time it hits max boost for that setting it just quickly dropes back down.

WHY can I not HOLD boost! Its a dual stage Manual boost controller very good quality one, just replaced the BOV what else could be making this happen. So a electronic boost controller would fix this and hold boost better?
