Now that the forums are locked down even more to non-members, is there any chance we could get the thumbnail images enlarged for attached pics?
I realise that it potentially uses a lot of bandwidth showing full sized pics, but perhaps something mid size like 400x300 would be OK? A size that is large enough to get the gist of the pic, but if you want to see specific detail then you'd need to click to enlarge it.
If they were able to be included inline rather than in a bunch at the bottom of the post it would be a bonus too, or can we already do this?
People can still include pics from other image hosting sites, but IMO when searching for an old thread and the external pics have disappeared it can often make that thread rather useless. Keeping the pics hosted together with the content helps to keep resourceful information intact.

I was thinking today what a pain attached images are. I would like to hear why people don't want to use a image hosting site and upload them that way?

Lots of externally hosted pics tend to go AWOL after a while, some sooner rather than later. This is annoying if you are reading a thread that has some kind of important information contained in graphical format, for example photos of a part location or procedure. People lose interest and let their image hosting lapse, or one day delete the pics forgetting they have posted them on a forum.

Will that be fixed up with OzVR4.com Wiki?

The Wiki will have locally hosted copies of all photos, yes. That won't affect the way the rest of the forums operate, however.

I guess what I was getting at is that if the information is important and useful, it will be included in the wiki stuff.
I mainly see, images missing from unimportant areas, like "should i get these wheels" or "does this body kit make my bum look big"

I can see pro's and con's for both.
The other thing about hosting pics externally is they are free for the world to see, whereas here they are locked in for members only.
TBH, even if they increased pic size I think I would still host them on another site as photobucket for instance can make pics smaller on upload and bulk upload etc without me having to do anything :D
The only thing that sucks is no bulk linking :(

A little bit OT, but it kinda fits in here....can someone tell me why I can not link to images hosted at my photoshop.com galleries?
They used to work, but now do not and I have to resort to using links, which sure is annoying for everyone?

When I try to view threads at work (gov't computer), external links to photobucket type sites & links to video (ie. YouTube) are blocked so I have to wait till I get home to see them. I have no probs clicking on thumbnails & viewing pics that way. I guess they want us to do actual work instead of looking at pics on the internet!!!

Any chance of getting the pixel size restriction removed for GIFs, like is the case with JPGs?
I'd like to upload some monochrome artwork from a workshop manual but JPG is making it blurry, and GIFs max res of 620x280 makes it too small to be of any use.

Dude, I'm rally sorry, but this stuff will have to wait either until I get my computer up and running again as its in storage and I'm either on my mobile or on a borrowed laptop, or, until we get VB 4.0 up and running.
Sorry! I wish I had more resources to throw at this place, I really do.

Has something been changed in the last few days? Attached image thumbnails are now showing up at full size :)
If so, then I'll go back and edit a few threads so the pics don't seem to be doubling up.
