Hi guys I feel like I am posting and replying too much so I spend a bit of time looking for an answer for this with no luck.
Well since I am a noob I don’t know if this is normal or not.
Had my car running for 20min before clutch went without absolutely no hard launches so I guess it was on its last days but in that time I saw something interesting with AYC
When I took a corner a bit faster as I was curious to see if AYC lights comes on, and to my delight it did.
The sound at the back was a bit weird it is very hard to explain but it was like closing a door which is touching the floor covered in that old school weird plastic.
I don’t think that it was the tyre as I did not hear it squelch but my stepbrother said that it was the tyre so I am unsure.
I might just have to take one you guys with AYC for a drive jump in your passenger seat and you can tell if its normal.
But the first bar light came on and stayed on for maybe 200 meters even thought I was going straight.
My step dad said that same thing happened on the way back from NSW after some mountains and the light stayed on for little while even though he was going straight.
IS THIS NORMAL?

How long do your bar light stays on for?

If not what do you think I should do, as the car is at EVO AUTOS so it could get fixed there.
Thanks in advance
Tomas
PS ITS GOING TO COST ME 3500-4000 just to get it registered (includes 760 for insurance) BUMMER all that money could have gotten me dump pipes down pipes and complete exhaust :(

Get your AYC serviced pronto. The noise and behaviour you describe is not good.

Tech/Sport will do it, less than 200 bucks.

Check that all tyres are the same type and have the same amount of wear. Also check that the pressure in them is the same all round, or that the fronts are 2 psi more than the back. The light should never stay on in a straight line. The AYC system is also silent in operation so if it is making noise you should get it serviced with new oils.

I got the exact same sound when my AYC system needed a service. I paid $220 for it and have not had this problem since. It's suggested it gets serviced like every 20 thousand km, more if the car is driven hard a fair bit.
Also, that seems like a lot for rego, or does that include repairs etc to get it on the road? I paid a lot for insurance as I'm a younger driver (20) but rego was only like $1400 with stamp duty.

Trev I got my AYC serviced at Gavin Wood Auto Tech up Labrador. Does a lot of work on skylines (has created some unreal cars), but he also deals with EVO's so he knows how to do an AYC service. Took about 2 hours if I remember, I think a few of the other QLD guys go here for services, really friendly and helpful. Not to mention the collection of cars outside the shop, especially on a dyno day. Auto porn. :D
