Clutch pedal, sticking

Hey guys

when releasing the clutch it comes up 3quaters of the way and sorta sticks and then comes all the way up and makes a thud.

It only started last night, what could it be?

Mine used to do that, i think its just the master cylinder having a sad. Probably wouldn't hurt putting a rebuild kit through it.
That said mine got better after a while but seemed only to do it in winter...

Would it be worth flushing the fluid and giving that a go?

Bleeding it may, is your fluid dark and murky?

No still clear, and its getting worse.

I looked today at the piston attached to the clutch pedal and there is some play at the top of the pedal now. first 2-3inchs of the pedal do nothing and clutch is now releasing an inch from the floor.
It was around half way before this started.

There is an adjustment on the pedal itself, that may assist, but maybe a rebuild kit mat be in order?

Sounds like the master is stuffed unless the adjustment lock nut is not locked and is unwinding itself. I'd be going master cylinder

Have the car booked in to be checked and confirm what it is, it is getting worse I now have about 2 inch's of clutch and the rest is all free play and spongy.

Gonn a stop driving it until its checked.

meh, just need to match the revs

I have a weekender that hasn't been driven for a while, so not worried about not driving the leggy for a bit.
