My car has been clunking for a while now, happens when turning either way. Thought I should check it out.

I found a fair amount of play in the ball joint that connects the RHS tie rod to the steering rack.
Has anyone replaced this part, and how do you get it off?

I looked through the JPNZ Workshop manual and couldn't find anything on it!
If i can't find a used tie rod laying around in adelaide I figure the best place to get the part would be Rallyart NZ?

Thanks.

Myself and other members have bought tie rod ends from ebay US.

Look up tie rod ends for the ECLIPS they are much cheaper than Mitsi ones.

1/19 2002 FL Legnum Type 'S' Manual in Black with Suede Recaro's!
These are the ones i brought a few days ago. Postage was a bit of a killer @ USD$56 but still heaps cheaper than the nearly $300 OEM through Rallairt NZ! (Not that i am saying Ralliart NZ are rip offs its just what they cost)

As Rob said too, if you look around you will find a few threads now on the subject.

Edit, below is what i was quoted for OEM through Ralliart NZ

MR403872 tie rod $86 ea
MB501711 rack boot $27 ea
MB912519 tie rod end $38

All available, estimates on postage $40 to $50

I ordered a set of the same ones as Trevor bought - they should arrive in the next few days. As I've sold the Legnum, I have no use for them, so will put up a FS thread when they arrive.
