Hey guys,

I have an issue where when my Legnum has been sitting in the sun on a hot day, the speedo / odometer don’t work (but tacho does).

The dash illumination etc all continues to work.

Once the ambient temperature cools down it suddenly starts working.

I’ve checked the vss plug and all fuses and they seem fine, I’m thrown off that it’s intermittent.

Any ideas?

Do you have an aftermarket stereo?

Hey Thorn,

I have an intermittent speedo issue that I have not attributed to temperature. It comes and goes, sometimes, but rarely within a drive cycle. I've tried changing VSS with one I thought was compatible but it made the speed read double.

What I also figured out is when the VSS is straight up unplugged, the transmission also gets pissed. That seems to indicate the issue is on the instrumentation cluster/associated wiring .

I have an aftermarket stereo but I think I didn't connect it to the speed signal wire because I didn't need those functions.
